I, the author Paul, am a recovering attorney having grown up and practiced law in Reno, Nevada, U.S.A. I was a cute and lovey child, but after Hercules first knocked me to the ground – the horrible, disfiguring injury represented in the foregoing photograph – the calluses began to grow. Following the feelingectomy of law school; practicing criminal defense law for 30 years; and after inflicting innumerable failed relationships my fate as a cranky not-so-old man was sealed. The instant journey and blog being an attempt to peel off the layers of hurt, mistrust and anger in order to find a new, better path in these later chapters of life.
